Creating a Content Request

Your content request is where everything starts - it’s how you invite your customers, community, or event attendees to share real, authentic photos and videos with your brand.

The process is quick, visual, and mobile-first, so you can build and preview your request in minutes.

82DASH automatically generates a live mobile preview on the right-hand side of your screen as you build. Everything you change - from text and images to button style and reward details - updates instantly. You can click this preview at any time to interact with it, just as your contributors will experience it on their phones.

Step 0: Create a Request

This is where you define what kind of customer-generated content you want.

Choose your content type
Select whether you’re looking for images, videos, or both. (Surveys and mixed formats are coming soon.)

Set your preferred format
Choose portrait, landscape, or both, depending on where you plan to use the content (portrait for social, landscape for ads or web).

Select your reward type
Pick between:

  • Custom Reward – your own reward (e.g. a discount, voucher, or gift)

  • Coming soon: Business Card and other reward formats

Select your language
This determines the language shown on your campaign’s landing pages and notifications.

Once you’ve made your selections, click Continue to start crafting your campaign brief.

Stage 1: The Request

This section helps you explain your content request clearly and inspire the right kind of submissions.

  • Campaign Name – internal only, helps you stay organised.

  • Content Brief – describe the photo or video you need. Keep it short, friendly, and specific.
Example: “Capture a quick video of you unboxing your Sam’s oat milk.”

  • Font Size – adjust for readability in the preview.

  • Key Details to Include (optional) – highlight what’s required for the reward (e.g. must include product, clear lighting, no filters).

  • Brand Rules (optional) – upload visual examples or styling preferences (e.g. colours, framing, tone).

  • Customise the Call-to-Action Button (optional) – make the upload button fit your brand voice.

    Examples include:

    • 🎥 Snap & Submit

    • 📸 Let’s Go

    • Join the Challenge

  • Landing Page Style – choose a ready-made layout (Card-Based, Immersive, or Minimalist) or create your own template.

  • Primary Colour – sets the main button and background colour.

  • Custom Button Colour (optional) – override the default for contrast.

Advanced Settings

  • Restrict uploads to camera only – limits contributors to taking new photos with their camera (no gallery uploads). Best for live, real-time moments at events or activations. Not available for video campaigns, as gallery uploads ensure better quality.

Everything updates live in your preview. You’ll see exactly what participants will see on their phones.

When you’re happy with your setup, click Next.

Step 2: Questions

Here you can collect extra information from creators - useful for audience insights or customer research.

  • Email (required) – all uploads are tied to a verified email.

  • Optional fields – first name, last name, phone number.

  • Newsletter permission – adds a single opt-in checkbox. If you require double opt-in, manage this in your email platform (e.g. Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Shopify Email).

You can also add custom fields like text responses, multiple choice options, or rating scales.
This section is especially valuable for market research, event insights, or post-purchase feedback.

Once finished, click Next Step to move on to rewards.

Step 3: The Incentive

Here’s where you design the digital reward that contributors receive when they upload their content.

You can choose between two reward modes:

  • Instant Reward – every valid upload is rewarded automatically. Best for participation-based campaigns.

  • Reward by Selection – you review submissions and reward only selected uploads. Best for higher-value or curated campaigns.

Then define your reward details:

Depending on your integration setup, you’ll see different options for managing and delivering rewards.

  • Reward Integration – add reward codes manually, import a CSV list of codes, or connect via one of the available integrations (e.g. Shopify).
When importing via CSV, you’ll map your code or voucher column. 82DASH will alert you when codes run low, so you never run out mid-campaign.

  • Reward Code – the unique code contributors receive (e.g. THANKYOU10).

  • Expiry Date – optional, but helps drive timely engagement.

  • Reward Text & Subtext – the title and small print that appear on the Wallet card (e.g. “20% Off Your Next Purchase” / “Valid until 31 December”).

Your live preview updates instantly so you can see exactly how your reward will appear to contributors.

Step 5: Wallet Pass

Finally, design the digital Wallet Card that contributors receive once they’ve uploaded content.
They can save this to their Apple or Google Wallet - creating a lasting connection with your brand on their phone.

Upload the following:

  • Icon – small image for notifications and Google Wallet display (1024×1024 px).

  • Logo – your brand logo (max 10 MB).

  • Hero Image – banner image (recommended 1200×750 px) giving the card visual identity.

  • Background & Text Colours – match your brand palette.

  • QR Code (optional) – allows contributors to scan and redeem rewards in-store.

  • Contact Email & Website – add your brand contact so contributors can reach out if needed.

Contributors can flip the Wallet Card to view its backside, where reward details appear — including clickable links, expiry dates, or contact info.

You’ll see the Wallet Card preview update in real time.
Once everything looks perfect, click Submit to publish your campaign.

This is the final submission - once published, you can’t edit the campaign settings or design.

Tip: Review your live preview carefully before submitting, especially reward details, expiry dates, and links on the Wallet card.

Stage 6: Connect Your Tracking & Analytics

Connecting your tracking helps you understand how your content request performs and where engagement comes from.

By linking TikTok, Facebook, Google Analytics, or Google Ads, you can:

  • Track visitors and uploads from each channel

  • Measure conversions and campaign reach

  • Optimise future content requests with real data

Click the + icon beside each platform to connect your ad or analytics account. Once connected, you can monitor traffic, submissions, and engagement through your preferred dashboards.

For deeper insights, add UTM parameters to your shared links - especially when promoting across multiple touchpoints like email, social media, QR codes, or partner sites.

UTMs make it easier to trace where each upload or visit originated.

This step ensures your content request isn’t just creative - it’s measurable, scalable, and ready to perform.

Mobile-First by Design

Every content request is optimised for mobile - from upload flow to wallet pass redemption.
Creators enjoy a clean, one-tap experience built for quick participation and instant gratification.

We recommend testing your request on your own phone before sharing it publicly.
This helps you experience the campaign exactly as your contributors will — through their camera, not their desktop.

In Summary

Your content request is more than just an ask - it’s a way to bring your brand closer to your community.

It opens a direct channel between you and your customers, inviting them to share real experiences and stories that reflect what your brand truly means to them.

Use the live preview to fine-tune your design, keep your message clear and human, and focus on building trust, connection, and creativity.

That’s how stronger communities - and more meaningful content - begin.
